Re: Sail replacement

Ditto based on Peters recommendation. They didn't get the cut of the main exactly right but it works fine and is very well made I would use them again. I would send them the old one to use as a template if I was doing that again. Cost to me was very reasonable.

Two in the stable

All I took this on the weekend, possibly a first for Batemans Bay, two I563s side by side in the BBSC boat park. The first boat is Whispering Wind which is owned by Sean Gell and who has posted here previously; the other is of course Aminee. I hope we get to sail together in the Bay sometime soon. A...

Re: up coming trips for summer were next are you sailing

All Summer in the Bay I always love it. It will be silly and crowded at the ramps, with out of towners behaving badly as per usual. Regardless I plan to get out as much as possible. Contemplating mooring or marina options for a week to avoid ramp rage. Already had a couple of pleasant days on the wa...

At least one I563 is still sailing!

All So quiet here on the board I have come to the conclusion that all I563's have been grounded on their trailers or moorings for too long. This year it has been a few and far sailing event thing for Aminee and me. Weather and other commitments have made it hard to get on the water every week like I...

Re: storm jib dimension could give you a problem

All I have a slightly different perspective. In the Autumn-winter-early spring periods here in Batemans bay I fly my standard jib and on rare occasions put in on reef but winds are mild and mostly comfortable. In the summer I mostly fly my storm jib even when winds are modest say 14-18 knots. But we...

Re: Newbie looking for i563

Sean Mark here from Batemans Bay. I bought my I563 from the same broker a number of years back. I have seen the boat you are interested in from a distance in his holding yard but not examined close up. You are welcome to contact me privately if you are interested in viewing my I563 which has had con...

Re: Becalmed, Mayhem, and a Maintenance Warning

All My setup: i have the furler separate from the forestay. The furler is attached to the wire of the headsail and then hauled tight on the halyard and cleated off at the mast. In times of problems i can useually drop this but in the instance described here the heady was tangled around the forestay ...

Re: err just to let you know we are sinking

Atles I had a similar problem a few years back when the CB got caught on trailer and caused bilge leakage albeit minor, in the same position. I took the opportunity to re-glass that whole section where the through bolt goes and strengthen it and use good seals on the thru-bolt. Not had any problem s...
