Re: Unknown # fb investigator

I haven't come across this Investigator before. Looks to be a good candidate for a restoration. The missing hatch might be a challenge though. I haven't seen a Chrysler outboard for a long time. I had a similar one when I was a teenager so I guess the motor was bought new along with the Investigator...

Re: Hull number #31 NSW

This was the Investigator in the infamous "Sundiver" youtube video where the mast snagged a tree branch when launched. It is worth googling if the video is still around.

Re: Jib sheet cleat

Pete, I was about to welcome you to forum but see that you are a long term member. I will, instead, congratulate you on your first post. Attached is a photo of the jib sheet layout on my Investigator. This was the original setup for the boat. I did away with the 2:1 block some years ago and haven't ...

Re: Investigator for sale Sydney

This is the same photo from when this Investigator was advertised in January 2019. (Guess it doesn't move much.) If the build date in the ad is correct, this would be one of the last of the run.

Re: I563 spare parts boat South Hobart

I'm a little perplexed over this one. Peter says that C Games' owner stated that his boat had a fire and that it is no more and then this one shows up at the tip. They both have that large cleat on the foredeck. I believe that the boats are not the same for the the following reasons: [1] The pushpit...

Re: I563 spare parts boat South Hobart

Very sad to see but not totally convinced that this is C-Games. There is no name or number on the hull and I've spotted a few more discrepancies. I don't have a listing for No 93 so maybe it is 93.

Re: Early Hull on trailer, FB, Melbourne

Andrew,
Teria's old through-hull outboard mount puts it amongst the very first boats. I'd say that your hull number is correct. The position of the bilge pump outlet also confirms that it is an early boat (like mine).

Re: Early Hull on trailer, FB, Melbourne

This is a later boat as it has the two hinge, front hatch design. Serial number would be greater than 100. The pop tops looks like it has been modified at some time.

The boat would make a great project for someone.

Re: 12v Battery monitoring

Andrew, I installed a voltage gauge which came in a housing which included a USB charging port and two cigarette outlets. I found it on ebay. The voltage display is separately switched so that it doesn't drain the battery when not required.
