I used Eastwind Sails for my new drifter, headsail and main. Sailmaker, Dave Turner, did excellent work on all three and the communication was really good..
Dave's number is 0417250490. There is a website too.

Re: Topside cleaning - advice please
Mark,
I just used a cutting compound and a buffing machine. I did not polish the topsides only the hull. Came up pretty good.

Water storage
Sounds good. You can add water without moving stuff and I assume decant water too. How is yours plumbed up?

Re: What have you done with the space under the V Berth?
My battery has been installed under the cockpit floor and behind the step. I don't have side lockers like you mention. The quarterberths are sealed but have recesses moulded in. One recess is like a small bucket whilst the other is shaped like a square basin. There are lids for both. The idea of gla...

Re: Leaking bilge and centre-plate
As it happens, my technical advisor and I came up with a similar idea of a cap and Sikaflex but the delamination was such that I wanted to deal with that too. So I proceeded the way I did. I'll describe it here - who knows it might be useful to someone one day. First, I got rid of all the silastic o...

What have you done with the space under the V Berth?
My wife and I sleep in the quarter berths and use the V berth for storage. It holds a lot. But what to do with the space underneath the V berth?
What do you do with yours?

Leaking bilge and centre-plate
Finally slung the boat up in the air. Using a hubcap remover tool we encouraged the centre-plate to drop. A little work on bolt tension saw the plate fall past 45 degrees on a regular basis. It appears that the plate was stuck due to new paint not being quite dry. I was happy to see Matt had obvious...

Re: outboard motors
Went for an overnight at Pt. Phillip. 5hp Mercury started easily and we set out from Warmies ramp in a good 15 knots. Set the sails with two reefs. I still have not got the board to drop, We had a wonderful sail. Next we headed for Hobson's Bay YC to pick up a friend. Engine would start but not run ...
