Re: Log in problems

Hi Ian

While I'm no computer wiz I have worked on computers a lot so if nobody else puts up their hand I'm prepared to have a crack. Their is something weird with the PM system and it should be easy to reset passwords. Anyway happy to have a look

Anyway, Phil Carr has been locked out of the site as I think he forgot his password. Can you provide info on how he can get back in. He can't logon and there are no contact de...

Re: Grounding 12v system

I have found out that it was the radio (car style) that was earthed for some reason. Anyway I've taken out the radio.

Re: Grounding 12v system

Hi Greg
Don't know about the 240v generator and I certainly won't be using one. The old wiring is a bit of a mess. I think i'll skip the earth.

Re: What Battery?

As you said, with your requirements that sort of battery may be OK. One of the advantages of the AGM deep cycle batteries is that they are sealed and hence safer on a boat. Previously I had a 28ah sealed battery that was fine for most situations. Anyway I have attached a Power Consumption worksheet ...

Grounding 12v system

Hi Guys Is it necessary to earth a 12v systems to the boat. I'm replacing and the old wiring (and relocating the panel) and I notice that their is a green wire that appears to be attached to the bottom (below deck) of the Shroud chainplate. Solar Panel location

Hi Guys I'm looking to add some solar panels to my boat. I'm aiming for 70 - 80W flexible panels with a 128Ah battery. As well as the usual nav gear, iPad etc I would also like to run my 35L Waeco fridge and a st1000 Auto tiller. A couple of options are; 1x70W panel on the Pop Top Hatch or 2x40W pan...

Hi Phil
I'm in Elsternwick and have an Investigator. Call me on 0419 230 464 if you want to check it out. I have a Nissan Xtrail 2.4L and have had no dramas in towing albeit at 80k on the Highways.

Re: Mainsail issues

Hi Guys The halyard does go all the way to the top so I suspect it is a sail problem. When hauling up the sail (into the wind) it goes up OK for the most part and then seems to get stuck near the top leaving a "bulge" at the tack/foot of the mast and no amount of effort will get it any fur...
