I thought it may have been an obscure image of a magnifying glass....elementary really!
Has anyone (who knows how to do it) considered recreating the original "Investigator 563" sticker that went on the side? I'd buy a couple of those. John.

Re: Bunk cushions
Hi Ian, mate, I'll use them for sure, it's one thing I need to get. Can I impose myself upon you for that mastfoot too (if you still have it). PM me or advise me here if you can.
Regards John.

Re: Broken mast foot
So, Bob reckons the break was as a result of the mast foot, described by Bob as the plug, not being flush with the base. He suggested a teak wedge to absorb the rake in the mast, this helps ensure a constant pressure on the foot. I didn't ask him about the price of the part, I have to get it. I'm ye...

Re: Broken mast foot
Thanks anyway Ian, I got onto Bob Keeley and he has just manufactured a few just days before! He's a very helpful chap and advised me why the breakage probably occurred. John.

Broken mast foot
Hello all, I took the boat out last weekend into Pittwater/Broken Bay, Sydney, where it was blowing +25 knots. Anyway, on pulling her out we found the mast foot had broken. The piece in question is cast alloy, positioned at the base of the mast and attached to the mast. The two holes inwhich the piv...

Re: Seeking history of the investigator 563
For those that may be interested I found out some info on the factory where our Investigators were built.
According to an old document archived on the John Crawford Marine site the Investigator 563 was constructed at 1 Campbell Pde Manly Vale Sydney, incidentally, about 1 klm from where I live.

Re: Seeking history of the investigator 563
Yes, I'd like to know where they were actually built, city and suburb. I have an old book that indicates they were manufactured by Yacht Sales, Careening Cove, Sydney. Perhaps someone knows for sure where they were laid-up. John

Re: Help on fitting a Raymarine AutoHelm ST2000
Yes, I got the ST 2000 from West Marine in the US for less than the ST 1000 would have cost me here, including delivery. I was unaware of all the stats but new the ST2000 was a bit quicker in coming-about. Zeb, the I563 really are a great little boat. As far a launching/retrieving go they're really ...
