Re: replace Aluminium framed windows with tinted perspex etc

Do you have enough room either side of 12mm 3m tape to get enough sealant in both sides? Your recess must be wider than mine, 6mm 3m just allowed enough sealant on AM. My windows were not recessed they were flush to the coach sides and only housed in the aluminium frame which as then pop riveted to...

Re: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Merry Christmas,

I had planned on getting my Investigator finished before the end of the month but it's forecast rain, rain and more rain ...
Hopefully I'll be on the water mid Jan 2014

Cheers

Re: replace Aluminium framed windows with tinted perspex etc

Found a fantastic way to seal the windows without screws. Now if some members are like me they're thinking (as I did) screws are the best mechanical fix....well that was until I came across an industrial 3M tape that is used on skyscrapers when a neat/clean finish is required. It's 3M's VHB 4991 acr...

Re: Best outboard for an investigator563

Hi Alisha, I've got a brand new Honda 4 stroke / 5hp long shaft outboard BUT... The Honda 5hp/4 stroke requires a 4 stroke outboard bracket (most outboard brackets state "For 2 stroke only" ) hence, I've since invested in a tenob outboard bracket because the Tenob is 'rated' for 4 strokes ...

Re: I563 refurbishment nearly over - time for reassembling

After too much lost sleep over whether to go single part or two part paint I went with the 2 part. I had read enough and watched enough videos to inform me on rolling on the 2 part and tipping off with a brush. I purchased the best rollers and brush I could afford so I would have no bits of foam, fl...

Re: Time for my I563's refurbishment

Finally got the 2 pack - polyurethane painting done (Hemple - 2.25l, Polybest 2 pack - white). First coat went on a week ago just rolled on, sanded back yesterday to abate the surface and today I got the 2nd and final coat on. I rolled on and tipped off. This is the first time I've done anything lik...

Re: Selling the I563 after refurbishment for Trimaran

Hi all, Went sailing on a Farr 31 recently (day sail) and it was just fantastic, easy to sail short handed (only 2 of us) and importantly felt very assured. I think that's a Farrier 31. HaHa.... I remember the owner correcting me on that as well....plus, the amount of reading I've done you'd think ...
