Re: Old article about Sail - La - Vie (Spindrift) #114

I think the same as Peter that Minnow is not a WA boat. Didn't the WA boats have a fixed front hatch, or have I got that wrong? The boat has a lot of similarities to Timeless, #50. Rudder is exactly the same, cutouts to fit the taffrail and all. Same toerail too. In the third pic, what's the bit of ...

Re: Does the year of manufacture make much difference?

Mishka has been sold, but the previous owner's son (who crewed on Mishka) believes that it was a double hinge job. So not absolutely definitive, but until the current owners contact us, or we see a better pic, we could say that #107 Mishka is the first of the 2 hinge model. Edit: This has been prove...

Peter, good suggestion re photo. It's been added. Just a reminder to everyone, if you have any pics that you would like in the gallery, add a post in an existing topic or start a new one. Add pics as attachments and suggest they be added as Peter did. I can then download the pic and re-upload it to ...

Re: Windows

Hey Ozzie, this is my order off ebay. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/112056908803 Bit less than $65 delivered.16.5 m, which is more than needed. If you heat and shape the fore hatch window you have to remove the protective cover both sides. Apparently if you don't it becomes very hard to get off. It to...

Re: Does the year of manufacture make much difference?

That's great Ray, enquiring minds want to know!

I have contact details for Mishka's owners, so I will contact them and see if they can enlighten us.

Re: Windows

I redid my windows last month. #50 had the good old lavender perspex. They weren't screwed but riveted, 1/8" aluminium rivets. Bedded with clear silicone. I read in other forums you must never use rivets or silicone, but they never leaked a drop. IMG_0948.jpg #111 had black perspex (technically...

Re: Does the year of manufacture make much difference?

Ray, while we are here, can you nail down the change points that you have pointed out? When I read your posts in the topic I have linked to, is it boats up to #54 had the early transom, #55 on the later type? And the single/double hinge - you reference #107, but is that the last of the singles or th...

Re: Diamond stays vs lower shrouds

Hi Peter,

Yes, my early boat has one (diamond stay setup) but my later one has two (upper and lower shrouds). So it looks like it probably wasn't related to production dates, but maybe an offered choice?
