Re: Cavities inside keel and around bilge areas.
I got around to finding whats going on inside my keel sections today. Started by drilling a hole into where I thought there might be a cavity storing water - boy oh boy i was wrong. The fiberglass over the section is paper thin, i realised the drill bit would go right through it like butter without ...

Re: Jacking up an I563 off the trailer
I dont know the best way to do it but i reckon this trailer would be the easiest! Found these images surfing the web, the guy who built it would have been a pretty serious engineer but I can dream of building something similar (in my dreams..........)

Re: Holy transom
Ive recently been thinking about this too. Not by cutting out the step but using a much larger diameter PVC pipe with a screw cap end to plug it. I dont know if the step alone would have a huge flow rate if you were really stuck being hit with continues waves offshore. The lower section of the cabin...

Re: Window Shape
I am open to suggestion on this Ian. We need someone with a Mk 1 single hinge to send a shot of the front and back windows from the inside of the boat. There must be considerable overlap of the hole with perspex though as this pic shows compare563b.jpg Something that just struck me last night , whi...

Cavities inside keel and around bilge areas.
Last weeks storms in Sydney managed to blow out the top section of my cabin door and the 563 took on enough water to fill the bilge on both sides of the centerboard case. A few strange things are going on and I'm hoping someone can shed some light on it. On one side of the bilge it looks like (from ...

Re: Botany Bay 06-04-2015
Enjoyed your video Greg. Very impressive sail first time out. I have'nt sailed Botany Bay yet - been sailing Port Hacking (from Grays point) and the Hawkesbury(from Parsley bay Brooklyn) a few times. Where do you launch there in Botany Bay? I often sail out of Port Kembla and on Lake Illawarra down...
