Re: Grounding 12v system
Was there a 240v generator used on the boat at some point? The point of grounding is to give high voltages/amps a route to go other than through you. Can't see any point to doing this on a 12v system but I could be wrong?

Re: Water ingress top of keel
I've had issues with moisture hiding inside the keel on my boat. A lot of it is addressed in these threads. http://www.investigator563.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=732 http://www.investigator563.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=744 I ended up getting all the muck out, allowed the area to dry o...

Re: Continuous Line Furlers
Thats awesome Dr.Peter, $800 sounds like a hell of a deal! My boats original furler is long gone, i was looking to replace it with the ronstan "trailer sailer" furler it around $200 at whitworths plus another $170 for the top swivel. For $370 its probably worth the extra $$ to do it right....

Re: up coming trips for summer were next are you sailing
i will have to not take the mast as too many power lines Hey Atles you could bring your mast with you and lean it over for the bridges/power lines? I dont know if you use a furler, that might complicate my method (i only have a jib downhaul line), if your bow roller is the same as mine it has 2 att...

Don't know if this guy gets on the forum but he seems to know a fair bit about boats and how to get around in the rough stuff with a 563

Re: Battery location and other questions
Last week I finished moving the battery from under the step to the starboard cockpit locker then wired up a duel battery isolator (with charge options) with about $30 worth of bits from Jaycar. Im pretty happy with it, pictures here - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.132590087082541.1073741...

Re: What Battery?
Calcium/calcium battery's. I've had the same one for years, still has the same performance as when it was new and I've never treated it well, draining it out completely with a trolling motor plenty of times. Charge them up and leave it in the shed for twelve months and it's still ready to go. They a...

Re: Leaking bilge HELP
I have been having issues with with the bilge section in my I563 which I've posted in another thread. From what I have been able to figure out so far is that some keel sections have an open cavity that was covered over with a thin piece of plywood and an even thinner layer of fiberglass. In my case ...
