Re: The List

Thanks for the updated list Ray, it's not an easy task But "Teria - Chifley NSW" entry looks suspect to me Investigated this, (as Teria would be a rare name in Aust and certainly among the 170 or so I563's ever built (name from Ireland or Japan)).. Googled "Teria Investigator" an...

Re: Electric yachts - the future?

This video from Sailing Uma popped up on my utube feed today. They visited a big trade show in Amsterdam recently (for 3 days) which has a pleothora of advanced boat electric companies (some well established , others startups) displaying their hardware, software and some with fully integrated e-prop...

Re: Galley Box

Yes, it's quite portable Ozzie, reckon it could go anywhere (like ute trayback camping, beach etc) Found a couple more stowage spots aboard. As there's no foward bunk matresses installed in Teria, it fits just foward of the arch bulkhead to either side and also right up in the bow under foredeck beh...

Re: Launch Day

A great day Peter, glad the trailer went well. Allot of thought and effort has gone into it all, it's always amazing to see a boat come alive in it's true element. Cheers

Re: What Battery?

Discovered a battery conditioning product for flooded lead acid batteries called "INOX - MX2". Bought a 90ml bottle for a 100AH battery for A$10. My battery has made it over 4 years old so far, hoping this stuff can revive it a bit, extend it's life and increase efficiency (The price of a ...

Re: Galley Box

Thanks Pete, it's a bit rustic, but was a good design and learning experience. This galley also fits on the cockpit floor and juuust squeezes into the port lazzarette. It's by no means a refined design (eg. The lid is oversize with a 7mm gap to box, allows room for external fold of alum sheild and s...

Re: Galley Box

Lid latches and handles on today,

Used wood blocks as handles, they are 20mm thick which is flush with the lid edge , and allows this type of latch to function.

The latches have screw adjustment, so can hold the lid on tight. Went for stainless ones, $18 each at B's.

Re: Galley Box

Got the heat sheild fitted and screwed down. Trickier than first envisaged. Made the sheild in 4 parts..basepan, backwall and 2vsidewalls ..thats the order they go in. Each part has bent flange edges that overlap other sides and shaped edges that go over the top of box and front door posts, which al...

Re: Galley Box

Thanks Ian, those big motor boat wakes when at anchor eventually (after 10 years) motivated me to start this galley project. :) That's good you sent the link to Rogers book, it's an excellent reference book. I've got he 2014 original edition. So many things in the book are applicable to other small ...
