Re: Specs of original outboard well
The case against is growing. The fumes factor, wave surge, vibration as well as lost space seem to outweigh the advantages of protected engine and accessability. (Probably why the well was discontinued on later Investigators.) Maybe a spare small outboard in the locker instead would be a better idea...

Freycinet peninsula/ D'Entrecasteaux channel and the Tamar idyllic spots for sailing. Can't nelp you directly but noticed this couple had sailed a trailer sailer a...

Specs of original outboard well
Curious as to how the original motor sat in the port locker outboard well. Was there a hole through the bottom of the locker for the outboard leg or did it poke out through the transom. Also how did the motor swivel down. You might think I have finally taken leave of my senses but I think it was a g...

Re: Investigator State Titles Lake Samsonvale Sunday 1st Nov????
Good idea Paul but for me a lake too far. A shame all these Investigator owners are either Victorian or Qlanders. For a boat that was built in Sydney there seem to be very few NSW owners around. Good luck anyhow - sounds like a lot of fun. Congrats on your retirement Ozzie - Llike myself - now you c...

Re: GPS units - please help this simpleton
I have posted GPS links on the technical board/ useful links/ navigation aids. The garmin e-trex h unit - cheap and cheerful is enough for my needs. (I also like the feel of real maps and charts protractors etc -call me old fashioned.) Besides, Murphy dispenses his usual rough justice on anything mo...

Re: A very different Investigator 563 - For sale
Hi
Different alright. Spectacular looking boat. Sad when so much love and care has obviously been put into it and having to abandon it due to ill health. A salutory lesson for myself and others I think to get out there now and enjoy it.
cheers
