Re: Stoves
Of course its grim Ozzie it’s the Blues. They didnt have much to be happy about and still don’t. No wonder they turned to Sterno. Interesting bit of blues history there mate. Love the way we start on a subject and end up on a different planet. Part of the fun of starting a topic is to see where it l...

Re: Stoves
Good stove ideas here fellas. The Bonitto and canned heat (great band) could be a solution. Also the gas bbq on the stern rail a good option. I guess it’s horses for courses. We all use stoves differently. I try to avoid cooking aboard on extended trips. We freeze curries pasta meals burgers etc and...

Aldi torch .....again
It is my solemn duty as Ozzies appointed Aldi representative to announce the sale (yet again) of Aldis torches. Great light and also good for donking villains over the head as in good old Brit bobbies style.

Re: Moving under power
Good luck with your refit Agree with Geoff and Dave. I set the motor dead in line then use rudder to steer. Launching and retrieving I use the motor. Out in open water i mostly use Raymarine st1000 to steer the tiller. Best $500 I ever spent. Like having another crew member It relieves the monotony ...

Re: Flushing your outboard
Just have to add here a tip from some boofo blokes fishing forum (trailer sailer wtf is that) it sounded like one of their tall stories until I tried it myself. My yammie 8 developed prostate problems and stopped weeing a few months ago so I flushed it with Cocka cola a few times each time leaving i...

Re: Sleeping on the investigator
Great photos Ed especially the drone shots. Mostly everything’s been covered here on anchoring. All I can add is that I had difficulties with dragging anchors until advised to use all of my anchor chain 12metres in my case. Works every time even if my plough anchor doesn’t initially dig in it always...

Electric yachts - the future?
Interesting (if a little over exuberant) promo on yacht with dual electric motors. As a gadget fanatic I loved the idea of the dual props recharging the batteries when sailing. As they said “allows you to be a sailor again and not a diesel mechanic” What do you think? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j...

Re: Hinchinbrook Island, North Qld
Many thanks Andrew for a great adventure very well documented. Hinchinbrook and surrounds totally foreign country to me. Great to see the scenery especially from an Investigator. Spurs us all on to document our trips in 2021 especially the critics who hardly ever sail out of their driveways.😜 Great ...
