Re: #90 Tikirri is back!
So the last couple of days were spent getting the keel ready and installing + removing all rust from the trailer, welding issue areas, replacing heavily rusted brackets, painting, re-carpeting bunks and replacing all the rollers as a couple of them were cracked from rust and all of the spindles were...

Re: #90 Tikirri is back!
I did consider that it might be antifoul but I can’t see any strong evidence that it has been in the water for a long period of time so hopefully they were sensible enough to not use anti foul lol. Thanks Raya for the welcome! I’ve put the stainless keel in yesterday and just have to fibre glass the...

Re: Tikirri
OK, that all makes sense about your balance and configuration thanks David, the FWD out of the algae at low tide surely helps too. I believe the leaf springs in the Hiace are probably just sagging a bit from age because I can lift that end of the trailer by hand (guessing 60-70kg?) and the steering ...

Re: #90 Tikirri is back!
Ahh ok, and do they swivel in and out like this?
the height/ gradient appear correct just the swivel action can screw things up a little so not sure if they are supposed to be tight or a bit loose.

Re: Tikirri
Yes, that's the one! How do you go with a front-wheel-drive on the ramp? I haven't yet launched Tikirri and have no idea what the limitations are, am I paranoid for thinking it might slip in? You have a similar trailer to me, could you look at the "tikirri is back" thread and see if ...

Re: #90 Tikirri is back!
Ok here is a photo of the cradle thing that I mean. In this photo it is tilted up a little too much but I could tighten up the bolts or weld in place if needed. The angle that it is at in the photo directly lines up with some scuffs in the grey paint so it needs to be handled by someone. I’m not sur...

Re: Tikirri
Thanks mate! I saw someone towing an investigator with a transporter on the I563 facebook group, could this have been your photo? The relative safety aspect of the I563 will definitely help my girlfriend feel more comfortable on the water as she is a little less adventurous than I but still super ke...

Re: #90 Tikirri is back!
So I noticed when I pulled up my investigator with the crane that the wooden carpeted hull cradle things can swivel in and out and change the angle, should I tighten these so they are correct for the investigator hull or are they supposed to swivel when you are launching/retrieving? There is a coupl...
