Re: Battery location and other questions
Hi Geoff Mine are in forrard locker behind the porta potti - I made a wooden base with alloy angle to hold two marine agm batteries side by side width ways which are wedged in place by a wooden 4X2. I have two islolator switches fixed onto the locker bulkhead next to porta potti into which goes the ...

Re: The other Investigator finally found
Hi Ozzie
That's an old Investigator for sure and here's another old discovery at the opposite end of the globe that is also very close to my heart

wonder if it beats Glenlivet?
cheers

Re: Capsise
Interesting story Ozzie. I don't herald myself as the ancient mariner and easy to judge after the event but I would have to question the skippers' competency there. 1 A centreboard not only gives a boat righting movement and ballast it is essential for recovery after a knock down. Many times I haule...

Re: Youtube Investigator -bizarre but interesting
Ozzie Ta - yes you would only use the top washboard with safety harness in heavy seas / lying a hull or trailing a drogue (from the bow) - measures of last resort in a boat of this size. The two washboards do however stow nicely under the cockpit into a large L shaped channel I screwed in directly b...

Re: Youtube Investigator -bizarre but interesting
Ozzie Apology for late reply - ISP woes (very unusual) - a certain provider -(the ceo flies balloons) said after 4gb limit expired I'd go onto slower speed except did not mention only for 250mb before cutting out the service!! Look out for that one!! Sorry to hear of centreboard problem -that draw l...

Washboard Blues
An idea I've tried for a washboard setup using larger alloy channel with 3mm ply sandwiched between two 13mm cedar washboards top and bottom. The inner bottom and top boards slide down the channel and the outside top board overlaps the inside bottom board. The outer boards screw onto the inner board...

Youtube Investigator -bizarre but interesting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBPfzUsI8o4 interesting rennovations from what I could see. bizarre though - I think the video camera was strapped onto a cats back. Hi all Enjoying a winter refit working on the usual Investigator imperfections on what is otherwise a perfect little boat. Have fixed th...

Re: Cruising the Tamar
David Enjoy the Tamar with your new furler- sure takes a lot of the hard work and risk out of sailing. I visited the wooden boat Museum - a lot of painstaking work goes into those boats - they are truly works of art- just varnishing the washboards, grabrails and gunnels strains my patience. Your vid...
