Outhaul and reefing Query

Guys, More mast and boom stuff! How are your outhauls on mainsail boom set up. Mine currently doesn't have one, the clew was tied to the end of the mast and I have no rigging for an outhaul? Same with Mainsail reefing, the mainsail is new, and looks like previous owner just tied it down in the very ...

Re: Now, I am a little confused about my Headsail setup

Thanks, the furler has gone and I am going to source some screw on hanks. Cant afford new sails so this will be the option. I have read that with wire luff, screw on hanks will be fine, but I will reinforce the fittings anyway.

Thanks for the responses and advice guys

Now, I am a little confused about my Headsail setup

So, got the mast up and got all the sails out and found this tucked away at the bottom of the storm sail bag attached to the storm sail. Then to my surprise I find that the Genoa is rigged with a wire luff and no hanks, but is too big to use with this wee little furler. The No2 jib is hanked and obv...

Mast Fittings, Sheaves and Halyards

Good evening guys, Its taken a while (3 years), 3 spine operations, but my Investigator is close to returning where she belongs, in the water after her refurb! Pictures will follow soon, after some finishing touches. In the meantime, I turn my attention to the mast and few jobs that need doing. The ...

When will the tide turn?

So I have been told I gotta have spine surgery in 4 weeks, so am desperate to get the work completed on my I563. So I get the last coat (or so I think) of BRG on, only to find that I have not thinned enough and it will need another coat ( Rolling and tipping isn't as easy as it looks). So I move ont...
