Thanks Ozzie, and all that replied. I have found a new home for Secret Chord, unfortunately the trailer rusted through from the inside which stuffed my plans about selling somewhat. Thanks again for the inquiries, I lost all the phone numbers as I usually do.
Regards and happy sailing, Topaz Bill.

Secret Chord Needs New Home
Secret Chord has to find a new home. I've relocated to WA, and she's still in a shed in FNQ, an hour and a half from Cairns. She's been a marvelous yacht, but needs a fair few jobs to make her pristine. Check out Topaz Bill on YouTube to see last time she sailed. Although basically sound, the sails ...

Re: Members in FNQ
Kind thoughts as usual from David. The cyclones do cause a bit of adrenaline rush, but I have found the perfect cure for cyclone anxiety - drink about four bottles of stout, put in ear plugs, and sleep the night away like a baby. Still, it is a secure feeling to have Secret Chord tucked away in the ...

Re: Electric yachts - the future?
I'VE DONE IT, after stuffing up my password and nearly driving Geoff nuts, I'm back. Thanks Peter and David for your much appreciated offers for when next I'm,in Tassie. The sad news for you guys is I'm not sure you actually exist any more. I distinctly remember the uniform of the Commonwealth Games...

Re: Hinchinbrook Island, North Qld
I forgot to mention Andrew that a concern of mine with the Tohatsu Sail Pro is the propeller that doesn't have a shear pin. There must be a good reason for having the vulcanised hub, but I can't work out what it is. The steering friction damper was useless, but I managed fine with bungy cords to fin...

Re: Hinchinbrook Island, North Qld
I wouldn't even go for a day sail Andrew without my Autohelm. I use mine continuously when motoring, and as conditions permit when sailing. Hinchinbrook sure is a great place to cruise, an abundance of great anchorages and fairly predictable weather. I hope we catch up for a coffee one day. Regards,...

Re: Removing all the lead from the Keel
I was concerned about the cockpit drainage Peter. For river or bay cruising, I wouldn't be too concerned, but for offshore stuff it's not good enough. Your suggestion about the pintle bolt access is good, I "inadvertently" bumped bottom a few times and want to have this section really secu...

Re: Removing all the lead from the Keel
Peter Geoff and David, your advice is really appreciated too. I want to preserve my Investigator and intend to keep it until I am totally decrepid. I'm fortunate in a way that Topaz has months of relentless rain, perfect opportunity to do the task list that seems to be growing.

Re: Removing all the lead from the Keel
Great suggestion Ozzie about the access. I'll definitely do as you suggest. The light sounds a perfect solution, I'm always amazed by the clever suggestions on this forum that I have never considered. I can't help it if I was born with a really low IQ.

Re: Removing all the lead from the Keel
Secret Chord has the same issue, drips water for days after being put back in shed. It seems to me to be more of an annoyance than a major concern, the fibre glass all seems to be perfect and I am still able to do any trips without concern. The more concerning design fault is the hollow transom. The...
