Re: Storm Jib

Hi Peter, I saw your handrails, they looked fantastic and very strong. My last attempt was a dodgy arrangement with poly pipe with timber inside. Not great and super hot. My second dodgy attempt is with steam bent tas oak dowel. I doubt the timber will last too long - it's not real oak, some kind of...

Re: Storm Jib

Thanks for the extra details Peter and Andrew. Getting the #2 jib out to replace the luff wire has been on my list for too long. You might have motivated me to do it and get it measured.

Re: Mast Raising Tool

Genius!

I have been using a block and tackle connected between the pullpit and the jib halyard, and using the cabin top winches to haul it up. This puts a lot of load on the halyard swivel so it's probably not ideal. Your system pushes up instead of hauling up, very clever.

Re: Cockpit locker seals

What did you wind up using Peter (do you have a link)? And did you have to adjust the hinges to accommodate the seals?

Cheers, Ian

Re: Launching 563

Thanks everyone for the tips. I'll try the tilt next time, may using the winch to control the tilt and release.
