Re: USEFUL STUFFS

Just throwing a post on “Prep”. This is an adhesive recommended to me by a staff member at the green shed although they don’t sell it. It’s like PVA but seems much better, even better than the more so called “waterproof” PVA glues. It’s only marked as water resistant on the bottle but Ive stuck a la...

Re: I563 in Ravenshoe, Qld

You did well seeing that one Andrew. Given that not only is the description wrong but his lead photo is his rubber duckie tender. Not surprised he’s having trouble. Looks like single hinged hatch. Nice work on the timber galley unit although as ad says it’s now a “three berth”. It looks like the swi...

Re: Investigator molds plus a hull, deck with furniture at Toronto, NSW

Today another bit of boating history up for sale today on gummy from east side of Lake Mac . These were a popular boat on the lake in the day, know someone who had one. I looked at them when I bought my Swiftcraft in ‘90 but twice the price then, even 2nd hand. Even the molds are multiple times the ...

Re: General interest Links and Videos

That’s bloody scary stuff Andrew. It’s way back now but we found it was tourists in the North of WA, the NT and Nth QLD who were fairly lax with croc safety. Locals far more sensible. Although, we, like others, waded underground through waist deep water dragging the kids in a tyre tube at Tunnel Cre...

Re: $1000 investigator

Bump. Still on the market. If it was in nsw and rego trailer I’d buy it myself and give the boat away.
Winter is coming ……just the time to do up a vintage TS .

Re: Storage Bins

Neat setup Peter. Good call on the trimming of the stern most bin. I’ve been tempted to do this but on the mooring I have my boom tent rolled around 20mm pvc pipe stiffeners on the edge, boat hook, tiller, fishing rods, extension bilge pump pipe and the kitchen sink under the cockpit floor. I’m also...

Re: USEFUL STUFFS

Just a heads up, Aldi have the hi viz lined work jackets on this Saturday. These are quite passable as sailing wear and very reasonably priced by comparison. I’ve had one for years and have used it in cold weather when my thin Burke does not cut it. Be warned though they are hi viz but not night ra...

Re: Mast Raising Tool

Good invention mate, particularly like the base clamped on companionway step over. How long is the device for future reference? My rear support is square section adjustable for height with top roller. I think there is a pic on here somewhere. I bought that with the boat so can claim no credit.
