Re: Drop keel 563
Im not exactly sure how much more ballast I added 40 kg of cement and approximately 12kg of glass, misc, etc. Original swing keel weighed 23kg plus keel box approximately 4kg. Something around 25 extra kg. I chose cement and used original lead ballast blocks with a couple of layers of grp over top t...

Re: Drop keel 563
Good spotting. Thats an interesting mode! Would be great around the bouys. Maybe not so good for a cruiser! I went the other way with AM adding 60-70mm to keel and removing swing all together.

Re: Pop Top Modifications
Took some pictures of boat on trailer and on water. Hard to get pictures under 90kb and look ok. Roof works wonderful. Trip back from Metung to Paynesville on Saturday was reportable 30knots on the nose the roof didn't appear to add much windage. We were out for 6 nights so it gave us time to test r...

Re: Wooden toe rails
An update on my bulwarks (toe rails). Awesome! Pro's - Far less splash over bow or beam. Took some pretty big hits at the jetty without fenders and didn't even mark the hardwood. Lost stuff over the combing and the bulwarks saved them from having a swim. Far more safer moving around up front with so...

Re: replace Aluminium framed windows with tinted perspex etc
Do you have enough room either side of 12mm 3m tape to get enough sealant in both sides? Your recess must be wider than mine, 6mm 3m just allowed enough sealant on AM.

Re: Outboard Well
Thank you Peter for your opinions to this thread about 'Outboard Motor Well' although I think you may have got lost in those opinions! I am sure most Investigator owners and TS owners experiment with their outboards to make them more effective when under motor, as I did. Maybe you could start a thre...
