Western Port is a lot different to Port Phillip since it has much higher tidal variation. This means strong currents that smaller sail craft can't sail against. On our first sail there we went from Hastings all the way to opposite Point Leo, and then back again just as quickly. This is for me, I tho...

Thanks to everyone for the mast raising hints etc. We've ordered a "Mast Mate" from David after seeing the videos he has showing its usefulness. After the order went through he was kind enough to phone us and give us a few pointers about mast raising that were very useful. He is working on...

Hi, my first post here, and thanks to those who manage this forum.
I think I heard somewhere about the fitting of a light-weight mast to an Investigator. Has any one here any knowledge of this, particularly what boats may have suitable masts that are lighter etc.
