Rudder gudgeons

Tricksy came with the standard rudder which had been stripped of its gudgeons which were used on a timber, swing rudder which works fine. But I wouldn't mind replacing the two gudgeons and the bracket for the tiller at the top on the original rudder. Does anyone know where I might source these? I do...

Re: Another one on a mooring in Sydney

Looking closely, I think the keel does have the fat trailing edge but it is disguised by the gunk on it.

I've always wondered why the keel wasn't extended a bit further aft and tapered to reduce drag in the production boats.

Re: small is beautiful

I always find that having people "helping" is a mixed blessing. I feel under pressure to hurry and I never know if they have done things as I would, so I end up spending time checking up on what they have done. Ends up no quicker than a solo job. The best thing I have found is having a saf...

Re: Tricksy off Raymond Island

Thanks Ian, Yes aware of the weather helm story and I too go down on the main size before going for a smaller jib. In this case, we were just trying all the sails to get a good look at them and the sheeting angles and we also wanted to have a clear view of the photo ship (and vice versa), so the lit...

Re: Avatars

Thanks Raya - hope this works!

Only the storm jib up as we wanted to see our friends on their stink boat clearly. Tricksy still getting along passably even in light winds.

Re: small is beautiful

Good topic Atles, Sailing philosophy! I find the Investigator perfect for 2+ day cruises as the time/effort spent preparing and getting away is considerable compared to the small beach craft, it's not really a daysailer unless left rigged up somewhere. Agree with this except that with a well sorted...

Avatars

Just thought I would put an image of Tricksy up as my avatar but the size limit is 6kb.

This seems incredibly small and I am not competent to reduce the size of my image below about 11kb and even that would be crappy quality.

Any suggestions (polite ones) appreciated?
