Re: Spinnaker Specs

Found the spinnaker specs in the SAIL Specification topic. Looks like 6.35m is the max luff size which is about right if the post ring is at the 3 foot mark.

Re: Spinnaker Specs

Sounds great to be able to do all the hard work from the cockpit, nearly lost my first mate once...not good. Any idea what size spinnaker to use. Based on pole ring position on the mast looks like 6m is the max lenght.

Recently got a Symetrical spinnaker for the Investigator and have been having fun sorting out the rigging but need to know if anyone has the specs for the type and best location for the spinnaker pole ring and the size of pole. Am also very interested to hear from all on how they have rigged the boa...

Re: Help on a replacement Gunwale

Thanks Peter that would be good, have a friend in a timber place who can help out with the cost and profile but I may look at a smoother grain timber. It may be a tad easier to bend. Did you soak the wood before you installed it?

Re: Help on a replacement Gunwale

Peter, I agree timber sounds good and have been thinking about heading done the wood option as well, have not found a good profile yet. Noticed the original one on my boat is only maple, a tad soft I would have thought but cheap. How goes the hardwood rail?

Re: Help on a replacement Gunwale

Thanks for that, very impressive replacement and I can see it was one hell of a job to fit it. I do agree on the issue on the joint needing support and that if I dont use a wood replacement I need somenthing that will prevent damage to the topdeck and hull joint. A straight rubber one will not do th...

Help on a replacement Gunwale

Need some help on a replacement product for the Gunwale on the boat. The current timber one is a tad damaged in places and really needs replacing. Any one got any ideas on a rubber/pvc molding that can be used to replace it? I have had a good look around and a molding the shape of the current wood o...

Re: Boat heating,cooking and stoves

Great to be on an add free site finally. I removed to Metho burner after it nearly burnt the boat with a stuck jet. Am sure they where wonderful when new but add a little corrosion and they are deadly. I use a butane one but really only for a cuppa. I lashed out and bought a gas stainless steel kett...
